After a night in Montreal, we were ready to depart for Chibougamou, for a fuel stop on our way to Kuujjuaq, the destination before one more leg would bring us to Iqualuit.
After taking off from Chibougamou, we meant to land at La Grande-4, but on calling the airport on the radio we learned, that the airport was closed! I do not know fully why this happened. It was not mentioned during the briefing. But it is no doubt my mistake.
However we had enough fuel to reach Kuujjuaq, but now the satellite phone came in handy; because I did not want any doubt about this airport also being closed by the time we would get there. After some time looking for the country code for Canada we managed to establish contact, and inform of our arrival.
After a long flight, we landed in Kuujjuaq, and managed to get a lift the short distance downtown, where we were lucky to get a room in the annex to the local Hotel.
